Elite Rowing - Dibley designs for SL Racing and Olympian Emma Twigg
03 25 Topic: Press Release
'It’s not every day you get the opportunity to design a boat to compete against rowing’s top athletes racing in the world’s most esteemed boats at the Olympics'.
SL Racing brought in naval architect Kevin Dibley to take a look at the existing model. They wanted to know how the curves of certain areas looked and how much water the boat displaced at different weights.
'They found that they could make improvements and kept refining the design until they were happy with the results'.
Kevin had a limited time to design and develop the boat, and they wanted it to be lighter, faster, and good enough for the Olympics. So, they focused on specific areas to improve. They wanted the boat to be stable for new rowers to learn on, but also slippery for experienced rowers like Emma Twigg to use.
'The team at SL Racing did a stellar job on the build and systems, and the result is a very competitive fleet that will turn heads and achieve success in the Regattas on the world stage'.
